EMDR THERAPY

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a mental health treatment technique. This method involves using Bilateral Stimulation (BLS) to activate both sides of the brain, which can help process emotions, memories, and incidents that are stuck in the nervous system.

BENEFITS OF EMDR

  • Reduction in distress – EMDR therapy helps individuals reduce the distress associated with traumatic memories. It allows patients to access and process these memories to bring about effective therapeutic change.

  • Improved self-esteem – By processing negative experiences and transforming the associated beliefs, EMDR therapy can significantly improve self-esteem and overall self-perception.

  • Alleviation of PTSD symptoms – Studies have shown that EMDR therapy can effectively alleviate symptoms of PTSD, including flashbacks, nightmares, and severe anxiety

  • Reduced anxiety and depression – EMDR therapy can also reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, which often accompany trauma.

  • Holistic approach – EMDR therapy views the mind and body as interconnected. It addresses not only the psychological but also the physiological effects of trauma.
